Grot di Lourdes, San Nicolas

A thread pulled through fabric by steady hands: some young, some seasoned, some creating from inside prison walls. Each piece tells a story. Not of fashion trends, but of lived truths. Not of what is in style, but of what must be seen.

On 9 September 2026 the stone terraces of Grot di Lourdes in San Nicolas became a runway. Designers from Aruba and the wider region came together with students, artisans and unexpected creators to show what happens when fashion meets purpose.
Some walk for freedom.
Some walk for visibility.
Some walk for those who can’t.
And you are invited to witness it.

II · Who walks

Nature x Mankind

Every collection answered one theme, Nature x Mankind: from fabric made from recycled plastic bottles to a student collection on a real runway. Beauty that is fearless, and every garment a stand for justice.

Established designers

Couture, prints and tailoring from Aruba, the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Colombia and the Netherlands.

Students

Art X-plosion, a student collection guided by designer Andrew Steba, walked as runway 02.

Artisans

Hand-woven and striped pieces, beadwork and hand-finished craft from island makers.

Prison-based creators

Makers creating from inside prison walls, whose work stands on the same runway. Programme partner and details TBC
